Taking their starting points in three different Muuto designs—the Cover Chair, Unfold Pendant Lamp and Sway Throw—the motion films by Kühl & Han for Muuto explore a vibrantly modern universe through color, shapes, motion and external elements, such as smoke, resin and more, paired with the sonic atmosphere of Danish musical artist Unkwon.
Speaking on their approach to the films, Kühl & Han says: “We wanted to explore the designs from new angles to create a visual language that the viewer could delve into. It was essential to us that a narrative was present to create an abstract as well as artistic story, emphasizing the unique expressions of the designs.”
On collaborating with Muuto the animation studio adds We mainly find ourselves working in the digital sphere though always striving to play with colors, designs, materiality, textiles, tactility and shapes; a sentiment that was inherently shared with Muuto, allowing us to interpret their designs through our visual universe.
