Product Material
Back cushion: a single outdoor-suited foam core wrapped in wadding, enclosed in an inner lining and finished with final upholstery that includes an anti-slip feature for added stability.
Seat cushion: Multiple layers of outdoor-suited foam provide enhanced support and comfort. The foam is wrapped in wadding and an inner lining and then upholstered with the final textile upholstery. An anti-slip feature keeps the cushions securely in place.
Bent steel tubes, steel rods, and steel plates. The frame is electro-galvanized, primed, and powder-coated. Armrests are made from FSC™-certified (FSC-C028824) sapele mahogony wood. The webbing is made of 72% PP (Polypropylene) and 28% Rubber.
Powder Coated Steel
Steel is an alloy of iron with carbon. Powder coated steel has a subtle, textured expression and elegant feel while adding durability to the design and making it more resistant to corrosion. Powder coated steel is also highly chip resistant.
Textile use for customized upholstery
Textile Upholstery: 6,5 m / 7.1 yds
According to the ECDC guidelines, all surfaces can withstand regular disinfection with at least 70% ethanol. Clean the textile with a water-based cleanser, a mild, water-free, dry-cleaning solvent, or diluted household bleach.
General maintenance
Treat stains promptly. The longer a stain remains on the textile, the more difficult it will be to remove. A professional furniture cleaning service is recommended. Always pre-test any cleaning method in a hidden area. Several light applications of a cleaning agent are less harmful than a single concentrated application. Repeat stain treatment several times if necessary. Never use heat to clean textiles. Heat can set stains. Do not use agents containing bleach. These agents may cause discoloration over time. Do not over-saturate the textile or let water pool in seams.
Stain treatment
Soak up any excess moisture immediately. Use a clean, soft, white cloth, a natural sponge, or a nylon, soft-bristle brush with a water-free, dry-cleaning solvent for oil and water-based stains. Brush the stain with light, quick strokes. Avoid a scrubbing motion and work from the edge of the stain toward the center. For insoluble stains (e.g.chewing gum, candle wax, etc.), use a plastic bag filled with ice to rub the stain until the substance becomes brittle. Use a clean, dull, flat knife to remove the substance gently. Extra care should be taken when cleaning dark colors to avoid creating light marks that can be caused by color transfer. Avoid excess rubbing to prevent discoloration and damage to the face of the material. Do not saturate the surface. Allow the textile to dry thoroughly and vacuum before using.
Clean the chair with a damp cloth after use. If necessary, use a mild detergent or dish-washing liquid, not concentrated. Always wipe with a dry cloth afterward. Liquids, grease, etc., should be removed immediately to minimize the risk of stains and marks. Lacquered surfaces can get scratches and chips if hit by other hard objects.
Clean the armrests with a damp cloth, following the grain of the wood. If necessary, use a mild detergent or dish-washing liquid, not concentrated. Always wipe with a clean, damp cloth and then a dry cloth afterward. To minimize the risk of stains and marks, liquid, grease, etc., should be removed immediately.
It is recommended to clean the armrests 1-2 times a year using an outdoor wood cleaning product* to remove algae and dirt. Please follow the instructions on the wood cleaning product.
If untreated, the armrests will patinate over time and eventually turn a silver shade of grey. This patinated look does not affect the durability or quality of the armrests. If you wish to preserve or intensify the original Sapele Mahogany color, we recommend regularly using clear oil for outdoor use. Muuto recommends that you contact your local hardware store for advice on oils for outdoor use.
